It seems ridiculous to me that the one piece of furniture in the bedroom that takes up the largest area is also almost always the shortest. How much space is wasted above it which could be utilized. Nowadays houses are getting smaller, space is running out in urban environments and home designs are thinking of ever more ingenious ways of fitting more room into a smaller area.

These types of beds are raised about a metre of the ground and have generous storage boxes for whatever you need to store beneath it.. The same applies to bookcases; if you have a lot of books to store you buy a tall one because it maximizes the space above it. When people buy wardrobes they buy them as tall as possible, because obviously the tall it is the more you can fit in. This is why I think loft bunk beds are definitely the way to go if you're trying to increase the amount of storage space in your bedroom.

This couldn't be truer of the bedroom, and yet I feel like there's one massive thing that people seem to overlook.
