It has always been a facet of our world and is ever present to give us clarity of vision. Light gives us the ability to see our world clearly.

After some time, we discovered fire and eventually electricity. The light that is cast can be soft and dim or bright and brilliant. This is when we must use alternative sources of light for the home after daylight hours.

Short of removing the ceiling from your home, you really can't increase the amount of sunlight in the home, even if you have windows placed generously throughout the home, there is only so much light that will enter. Lighting these days gives us many more choices and can make our environment and surroundings more pleasing to the senses. It can cast shadows and make the dark visible to us. As stated, the lights in the sky, and mainly the have been our original sources of light since the emmie of time. In the beginning, the only form of light there was in the world was from natural resources in the sky; the the moon and the stars.

The amount of this light that enters our homes can be controlled using shades and window coverings that block out a good portion of the light during daylight hours.
