A brittani bear can bring back memories of your baby in his crib. Look around the room wherever you are and what do you see. A swing can conjure up the image of the carefree days of childhood. So, it is only reasonable to conclude that the furnishings of your home, your office and even those used in public buildings can stir emotions. You might see a desk and chair, or you might glimpse a sofa. Inanimate objects can evoke emotions.
Deliberately choosing to decorate your home with these items, however, is a trait that transcends gender and age.
If, however, the desk is a roll top and has the traditional wood, swivel seat chair with a padded leather seat, it can bring back memories of your grandfather's desk and the emotions the follow. The ability to evoke emotions is usually inherent to furniture and furniture styles that hold associations with our past. Often, especially in more contemporary styles, these furnishings do not draw a strong emotional pull from us. Since they are, as a rule, more sentimental, it's only logical to assume that there is more evocative furniture for women than there might be for their male counterparts. |
